Hi Zeke
2 questions. Do you have AOL installed? Do you have anyone elses high speed
connection manager installed.
These programs poll for an internet connection ( especially the AOL program
that runs in your taskbar) through the network card and when you use the
dial-up connection box it somehow interferes. Also try disabling the
Microsoft XP firewall temporarily and if that don't work try disabling the
service. Ctrl.>Alt>delete, then the services tab. Yhis has worked for me
before.
The file Intelc52.sys is not corrupt! It is some other program using a
memory space which the Intelc52.sys needs.
If you have dsl or cable you don't need this file because it's only for the
modem.
It might get worse as in my case. I now have a Your system has recovered
from a fatal error earlier in the start up process.
This problem I guess is restricted to Dell Demension computers using the
Intel on board modem. It seems that thier help desk people don't know how to
fix it as I was called. AOL just says it's a Dell problem. Which I now
firmly believe.
