I need help with the following problem. "The NTVDM CPU has encountered an
illegal instruction
cs:014B IP:0417 OP: ff ff ff ff 13
cs:014B IP:0417 OP: ff ff ff ff 13 OB
cs:014B IP:0417 OP: ff ff ff ff 13 OB 07
I can't get regedit to open when I go to RUN.

Try typing regedit.exe in Start | Run and see if that works.

Then update your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

Do the same with whatever anti-spyware programs that you have.

NTVDM.exe (NT Virtual Dos Machine) has nothing to do with regedit.exe. I
suspect that you have a trojan/virus/worm and have ended up with a file
called regedit.com, among other unwanted files.

NTVDM.exe will run if there is a regedit.com on your machine.
