Am I the only one who runs OM client on Precisions? Why do they
provide the software if we aren't supposed to use it?

What is this OM capable of? I already downloaded it, but haven't yet
got into it..

OM is capable of diagnosing the hardware and relaying messages.
Unfortunately, on the Precision I mentioned above, the voltage message
isn't useful. The dialog box is an annoyance. I don't know if the
problem is in a power supply, mobo, or other hardware.
Does anybody run OM on PowerEdge servers?

Am I on the wrong newsgroup? This thread is going nowhere.

NO,
But maybe you should call it "IT Assistent", as that is what you are
running.
That is the OM client which runs on a desktop.
But to return to your original question:
These messages are caused by the OM or IT/A client not "understanding"
the ESM (Embedded System Management) messages.
The easiest solution (if there is no obvious hardware failure) is to
upgrade to the latest System BIOS and ESM / ERA / DRAC Firmware.
That normally solves these messages.
If that does not work, you are probably looking at a new Workstation.

Thanks Frank. Although the reply came 3.5 months after the original
question I still apprecitate you answer. Thank you.
