Another 256 of memory would help. 512 is the least I would recommend with
XP. I don't think it would be the battery but is the clock keeping the
correct time? Also what all do you have starting-up when the computer
starts? This needs to be as few programs as possible, the more programs at
startup the longer the boot time. Have you thought about a clean install? A
big step but that would clean out all the junk. Just a few things for you
the think about.
