- Reinstalling Operating System
- Posted by JWIV98 on April 5th, 2006
Im trying to reinstall my operating system from three discs that came with
the computer. It is an HP if that matters and a notebook at that. Now I
have installed the operating system before and there was not a problem. Now
when I put the second disc in when it says to, it loads up to about 47% then
an error message #1802 "Image file is invalid or corrupted" pops up and makes
me push ok. It then takes me back to the DOS screen and says that my
operating system has been fully restored BUT THERE IS NO WINDOWS ON THE
THING! Im not a computer genius but I know my way around quite a bit. Please
help if you can.

Take your disk and wipe them with a lint free cloth. They are to be blimish
free then try reinstalling your OS.
