Restore Task Manager & Registry Editor
Posted by Scourge of Denton on November 29th, 2005

The application timing for Task Manager and the Registry Editor has somehow
been changed. These programs will only run for a second that then
automatically shut down. I have run various anti-virus programs and can show
no residual infection. I have run the repai feature of Windows XP to no
avail. How do I restore these two programs to their original state.

Timing has nothing to so with it. You have a virus.

[[When you open System Configuration Utility [MSCONFIG], Registry Editor or
Task Manager, they flash for a second and quit. This symptom is caused by
Viruses.]]

Task Manager, MSCONFIG, or REGEDIT disappear while opening

Update your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

Also try running a Free online virus scan.
