- running processes
- Posted by mikeboulton on February 11th, 2006
Hello,
i've noticed recently that my boot up of windows xp seems to be taking a
really long time after i sign in to my account with my password.
i do not have any viruses, spyware, or malware.
when i run ad aware it says i have 47 running processes ! this seems a
little extreme to me. does it to anyone else ? i'm not that bright when it
comes to running processes
i did try stopping quicktime and dell support from the startup in msconfig
(i have now gone back to normal starup) there must be something else i can do
to speed things up a little eh ?
i'm running a dell 8400 dimension desktop 3.2 ghz processor with 1gig ram.
any help would be appreciated
cheers !
mike.

I'm running 66 and have no problems.
You can try the Process Explorer at www.sysinternals.com if you want to
check thins out. (Look around while you're there, they have other useful
utilities.)
