- Safe Mode
- Posted by TalonSong on March 30th, 2006
I was working on a computer so full of virus it did not function. I was given
advice to go to "run" and put in: msconfig. When the screen pops up, then I
was told to go to boot, then put in safe mode. This work for removal of the
viruses, but when I tried to get out of safe mode, the computer said to use
restore to go back to regular mode. Unfortunately then computer says there is
no restore points. I need another method to revert the computer to normal
mode.

Forget the Restore. You can tap F8 on next startup of XP. Select Normal
Bootup and go back into msconfig>
boot.ini tab. Uncheck Safeboot.
