Sleep mode

I have a sony PCG- FX340(PCG- 993L on the bottom) and it will go into sleep
mode if I walk away for just a minute. I tried to change the power sheme, but
I am not able. There are no power options available to modify and I can't
create a new one. It will shut off while I am streaming music or downloading
larger files. It is a real pain to have to keep touching the mouse so that
the computer will stay on. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Some laptops use their own power management. Read the manual.

I received the computer a part of a severance package and it did not come
with a manual. I am still trying to find one online.
