- Slow performance copying from Windows 2003 server to Windows XP
- Posted by Tom on December 10th, 2007
Hi,
I have a strange performance problem when I copy files from a win2k3 server
to one pc of my lan (from the pc).
I have two server (one sbs2k3 and one win2k3)
Alla copy operations are intended from the PC (WinXP sp2).
Copy from and to sbs2k3 : ok
Copy to server win2k3 : ok
Copy from and to any PC on the LAN : ok
Copy from server win2k3 : very slow (same problem with onboard network card
and with onboard wireless card).
Copy from any PC on the lan to win2k3 : ok
I have already updated network drivers on the server and pc, disabled
antivirus, ...
Any suggestions ?
Thanks,
Tom

Obtain the latest version of mrxsmb.sys and rdbss.sys and implement the
registry keys as mentioned in the following KB article.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/834350
Also confirgure a performance monitor log to see if the system is running
out of any resources.
