For months I tried almost every tip suggested to correct the slow shut down
of my Windows XP, SP2 computer. I think I may have solved my problem and it
may help others that have AOL as their online service.
Right click the AOL icon on your taskbar to 'AOL START-UP settings' and
uncheck 'Enable Fast Start' then SAVE. This simple change to my aol start-up
setting has dramatically changed the time it takes to shut off my computer.
