- Start up problem
- Posted by Begem0t on April 19th, 2006
This is a sudden problem that I experience after downloading the updates from
microsoft. When I start the computer I see only the backgroung picture and
nothing else. I cannot see the start button or the taskbar or any icon on the
desktop. At the same time I can run all the programs through: Ctrl+Alt+Dell
menu ( new task). I have tried restarting the computer several times. Checked
for viruses and spyware none was found. I have tried starting in "safe mode"
but no changes. Some suggested that my "windows explorer" is corrupted and
does not start. I have an old version of Windows XP and on recovery it asks
for administrator password and when I enter it I get a message that password
is not valid. Please help.
