- Stop XP from autochanging DMA to PIO Mode
- Posted by Brad on March 22nd, 2006
Is there a way to stop Windows from changing a device from DMA to PIO mode?
I'm aware that by default windows will change a devices configuration from
DMA to PIO mode when a certain number of errors occur. I want to prevent
windows from doing this.
Is anyone aware of a registry key or utility that will stop windows from
changing this setting? I don’t care how many errors occur, I always want my
device to operate in DMA or UDMA mode.
