- system clock running fast

Some time back my system clock became unreliable. I changed the battery but
it did not improve so I installed a time synchroniser to correct it every 30
minutes. The time is now correct but recently the date has begun to move
forward. It is currently showing 6th Jan (2 days early). I have not found any
date synchronisers and have yet to find any discussion of this as a problem
anywhere. I have thoroughly checked the system for any possible virus but
found nothing. Everything appears to function properly except the date and
time properties. Any advice appreciated?

Open your BIOS and make sure the BIOS time
and date settings are correct.

Thanks for the suggestion Carey
System date was showing 7 Jan today (5 Jan). I shut down and checked BIOS
which also showed 7 but I assume that is because it takes its time from the
last windows shut down. I have now corrected the date in BIOS (previously I
had only made corrections in Windows) but I am expecting the same problem to
recur.
