system restore...
Posted by tammy on March 30th, 2006

I had a slow computer this evening so I did a system restore, for 3-24-06. it
didnt work so I did a restore for 3-1-06, I think. Well, now I lost some
pretty important items and wondered if I can restore this to 3-28-06.....or
am I just out of luck? I tried the undo's...but they didnt help.

Tammy, you discovered a downside to using System Restore. Any program that
has placed entries in the Registry since
3-1 are gone. That's why backups are important.

I also have a system restore problem. My system has phoenix recover pro. On
3/ 29 or 3/30 I have a full message and couldn't get online. I went into
recover pro and had some type of system error before I could do anything
myself. Now my restore dates incrementally between 3/12/2006 and 3/31/2006
disappeared.

I had installed and new digital camera program and uploaded some photos
which I then deleted from my new digital camera. the photos were once in a
lifetime moments and I want to recover them. Plus, I lost several settings
to my system associated w/ the photos and all is gone. Isn't there some way
that I can go into my hard drive and pull back the lost dates? My system
won't allow me to type in a specific date to try to recoverit.
