- Unable to acces shell manager

This occurs sometimes when I am trying to install software can anyone help me.

I just received this error also when attempting to install Nero 7 Ultra Suite
- it installed the applications up until the end, where the Microsoft
configurator was finishing it up, then I received the samrething and the
installer quit with a fatal error.
I also would like to know what the shell manager IS! Are we talking about
Windows Explorer, or something in the desktop?
Help? Please?
