- uninstall windows xp
- Posted by Lee on March 19th, 2006
My computer is really messed up. I'm not sure what to do! I have been
trying to uninstall XP but it wont let me. I've tried to install windows 98
and it won't let me do that either. The whole issue started while trying to
install a new ethernet card and the system won't recognize it.

The way to get rid of winXP is to use the install CD and reformat the drive.
If you want to install win98 you may also have delete the existing partition
and create a new partition and use FAT32 file system.
Of course you loose everything on the drive when doing this. This seems a
bit drastic for a problem with a network card. Maybe if you provided some
more information on the problems your having and what you have done someone
can provide some information on fixing it.

why do all that work...
just perform a system restore back to the latest point prior to installing
the net card.
