Due to a corruption, it was necessary to run Windows XP Repair. After
conclusion, I ran the Windows XP update series, (89 updates) which
downloaded OK, but will not install, even though Windows Installer 3.1 is
supposed to have downloaded and installed - (it appears on the list of
Programmes installed). Is there a simple answer to this problem?
