- Windows Explorer keeps shutting down.
- Posted by Dirk on May 31st, 2008
Whenever I try to search within Windows Explorer or add a new folder, I get
the following message:
"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience."
Can anyone give me a step by step solution, so I can use Windows Explorer
again?

Try run, type:cmd In cmd type:Sfc /Scannow Install xp cd when prompted,
exit the menu page.Once its thru,remove cd,type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to
restart, type:EXIT Restart pc....Also,if that has no effect,go to user
accounts,
create new user, open xp in new,if all is ok,the old account is
corrupted,delete
it..
