windows flashes a blue screen and then reboots on startup
Posted by Nathan Salas on December 8th, 2005

Hi!
I am running Windows Xp Home SP2, with athlon 3400+ 2.4 ghz, 2gigs of DDRAM
3200, 160 gig hd, 450 watt power supply, and a radeon x850 pro. I turn my
computer on and sometimes before it'll load other times it'll blink a blue
screen and then cycle back into a reboot and ask me to start windows normally
or on most recent settings.
I pick either one sometimes it'll let me in without problems, other times
it'll blink the blue screen and cycle again. Its like a roll of the dice when
i turn the computer on? Any remedies?

Thank!

When you get the blue screen hit the "pause break" button and copy down the
stop error code numbers and any dlls or drivers listed and post them here.
Can you use safe mode?
