- Windows freezes
- Posted by Manny on October 2nd, 2005
Hi,
My computer over the last week has been freezing for no reason. I will be
checking my email or just browsing the web and it will freeze. No apparent
reason. No resource-consuming applications are running. I am then forced to
hi the restart button on my PC. Also recently my case has been making odd
noises. Could it be a virus or perhaps a hardware issue such as memory?

"Odd noises" usually points to some sort of hardware problem, from cooling
fans to sick hard drives, or even a power supply.

how do you suggest i pinpoint the issue though?
i have been meaning to buy a new machine, would it be worth doing that?
or just trying to fix the issue for now?
