- Windows XP

I have a computer that was built for me in 2004, Today everything went haywire.
I lost file c:\windows\system32\config\system I tried to reinstall XP and
nothing . I also tried to format my computer causing me of course to lose
everything. When this was all finished I got an error message that I was
missing NTLDR. I did excactly what tech said to do and that was to copy it
form the disk to the c drive. When this got completed upon reboot of th
esystem my monitor would periodically shut down with non ending reboot of the
computer and I would get a message that signal was lost. I am once again
trying to format. Lets see what happens. Any suggestions to what I may be
doing wrong?
