I use the Windows XP phone dialer program occasionally (Dialer.exe) but find
now that it delays dialing numbers listed in the speed dial list for about 35
seconds after I initiate the speed dial. Since I hadn't used the program in
a while, I'm not able to isolate what I may have done that caused the change.
I had not intentionally made changes to the setup. I created a "Test" user
account and find that dialer works normally for that account. I therefore
assume a change to the registry has caused the program to slow down --
perhaps now waiting for some activity to timeout. I haven't been able to
find a solution for this in the Microsoft Knowledgebase or on the Internet.
Can anyone suggest a solution or a troubleshooting approach?
