- XP-Professional new installation with old set-up (ASR backup)
- Posted by N.Kannan on January 25th, 2006
I bought a new HD with a larger capacity and would like to install
XP-professional in the C: drive. I am backing up my old XP-Professional (full
back-up with ASR floppy) in the D: drive.
1. Is it possible to re-install my old OS in the new hard disc C: drive with
the above mentioned set-up?
2. Will the automatic backup wizard copies my Program folder as well or
should I copy all the program that In I installed separetly and place them in
the newly created Windows folder in the new HD?
3. Is the procedure for such a re-installation is the same for recovery
restoration after a crash? How does it work?

I recommend using a professional imaging tool like Norton Ghost for
this.
