- Losing speaker with Creative Zen PMC
- Posted by Todd Klindt on November 8th, 2005
I use the headphones with my Zen PMC most of the time. I notice quite
frequently that when I remove the headphones I get no sound from the
speaker. Plugging and unplugging the headphone jack does not seem to have
any effect. If I remove the battery, shut the unit off, then turn it back
on sound from the speaker returns. is this a known bug? Is there an easier
way to get sound from my speakers?

I'm pretty sure that I read both in the manual and on the Creative Labs
forum that it's a feature, not a bug..
something "to prevent embarassment"
So if the head[hone jack comes out with the unit on, the speaker is muted,
if you power down the unit, remove the jack, power up, it will unmute the
output.

I also noticed that wen you press the volume up or down once after
jacking out should give you back volume. With me it's ether instant same
volume level of what i used with my headphone or it's set to 0 so you'll
have to really bring it fully up to get sound. This seems random with me.
I never did needed to turn it off to switch between the 2 modes.
