Hi people

I've just bought a Creative Zen PMC and installed the software CD on my
Windows XP Home (with SP2 installed) system, connected the hardware only to
get a message saying "There was a problem installing this hardware: MTP
Device. An error occured during the installation of this hardware. The
service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely
fashion."

I've tried the stuff that naturally sprang to mind - I turned off my
firewall software (Sygate Personal Firewall) just in case something was
being blocked by that, and a Hosts file manager that I have, but neither of
these cured it.

I'm curious as to what service it thinks may not have started or responded,
but having looked at services.msc I can't see anything that suggests MTP.

WMP10 is on the machine.

I'm stuck!

Can anyone suggest anything (a hotfix?)

Have you tried sending your computer back to where ever you got it or just
giving it to some kid in your town, it realy would be for the best. Hope
this helps you.
