RE: Gigabeat - since WMP 11 unable to sync
Posted by Elisa on January 10th, 2008

Christa, did you ever find help for this issue? My computer has stayed the
same, but I have Winamp 11, and I just got a gigabeat for Christmas. I would
like to sync my music on to it (I prefer WMP to the Gigabeat Room), but
nothing happens, the device doesn't seem to be recognized.

Someone help, please? Thanks!

Elisa, so far I received no answer. What I have found myself: my device is
recognized but it takes quite a while to setup the sync; in wmp there is a
option to format the device, when I used this one the sync setup a little bit
quicker. after the sync is done for the first time, the other times it syncs
quicker. But if I have waited to long between to syncs - lets say several
weeks, it seems the cached information on the sync status is gone and it
again takes quite a while.

hope this help ...

Wanted to mention, you guys are in a group that gets very little traffic. It
is intended to support a now defunct media platform called Media Center
Portable. It was a multi-media platform designed by MS that sort of
partnered with their Media Center PCs. A few companies made hardware in this
space, I-River definately (have one), I think Creative might have. In any
case, they haven't been made for a couple of years.

You might have better luck with a plain windows media, or media player
newsgroup, rather than this mediacenter.portable one.
