- Sync MCE 2005 online DVDs to Zen

All,
Is there a way to Sync my MCE 2005 online DVD collection to my Portable
Media device? Do I have to convert my VOB files to another format? I can see
my collection in My DVDs and My Videos, but not in the portable device Sync
menu.

Can you see them in Media Player 10?

Yes I can see them in Player 10. I can play them too. But when I try to Sync
it with my Zen, it tells me "unsupported file format".... I have Nero 7, so
I'm trying to figure out how to convert it. Have you ever converted a full
move from VOB to another supported format?

No, never have yet. The only things I've moved to my PMC are recorded TV
files...

Dana,
I am planning to purchase a Zen Vision: M for use with my MCE 2005 pc. I
would like to transfer My Recorded TV to the ZVM, but I am not familiar with
the process and limitations of this. Would you give me an idea of the time
and effort required to do this? Can CGMS-a shows like the Sopranos be
transferred?

I don't know about the Zen M, but the original PMC takes about as long to
transcode a regular tv file as the file takes to play. As others have
mentioned in your other thread, copy-protected shows like the HBO stuff
probably won't transfer. Since I don't have HBO or any other premium
channels, I couldn't say from experience...
