Does ANYONE make a reliable system, operating from windows xp pro
which will color & BW print, color & BW copy, pcfax, color scan?

Several manufacturers do. Canon, HP, Epson and Brother for certain. I do not
recommend Brother printers overall but if you search the other manufacturers
websites they should give you the information you need. Look for multifunction
or all-in-one or similar products. I assume you are looking for inkjets, if you
are looking for laser colour then add OKI to the list.

Take a look at the HP Photosmart 2610. In addition to the above it also
prints from camera cards and will scan to the memory cards as well as to
the PC. It also supports an optional attachment for automatic double
sided printing. See:

If you need automatic sheet feeder you might look at the Officejet 7210
(or 7310 or 7410), see

The 7310 and 7410 have graphic LCD screens (as does the 2610) for more
extensive standalone photo printing and editing.
The PC Fax for these units is send only.
