I had lots of two-sided printing jams with the C7280 and took mine back
after about two months. The last day I could return the printer was the
day that it kept jamming, and HP tech support could not fix the problem.
They offered to send me another (replaceable) duplexer, or a new
printer if this did not fix the problem, but I did not think it was my
job to be a guinea pig and try to test out different solutions,
considering that this was such a new printer. It had annoyed me too
much to want to waste any more time on it, trying this and that to fix
it. My sentiment is that HP owes me a ream of paper, at least!

Other considerations that did not bother me personally: I hear there
are Vista compatibility issues for functions other than printing, and it
is "loud".
Another consideration is that it doesn't do duplex copying, just duplex
printing. I believe the HP OfficeJet Pro L7780 is a similar printer
that will do duplex copying. Whether duplex "scanning" is implied in
this as well, I am unsure.
Some people reported networking problems. I had no problems with a TKIP
WPA-Personal connection to a Linksys WRT54GS. Perhaps my setup with
each device requesting its own static IP has to do with my lack of
issues.
