- Posted by Legolas on August 28th, 2003
Hello, i have a stylus photo 790, what are the best glossy papers
like Epson Premium Glossy Paper but not too expensive?
I use dye based inks (not epson one).

www.ilford.com
check out the classic gloss and classic pearl papers..
the smooth papers are designed for pigment inks.

I've had good results with "TDK Pro Quality Photo Glossy 270g" in an
HP895cxi (dye ink) and an Epson 2100 (pigment ink).
There web site is here but you may find it cheaper elsewhere.

I note that the spec now says 305 g/M.
They used to make a lighter weight version (without "Pro" in the title) that
isn't as good in my view.
They still make "Reference Grade" which I haven't yet tested but would like
to.

Hi Legolas
I like the Epson Photo Paper. If you've got a CostCo nearby,
they sell a 100-pack of the 8.5x11 size for under $20. It has a longer image life
than the Premium Glossy paper.

The life of the Ilford papers are not very good as compared to
redriver.
