Best printer for printing cards?
Posted by News on September 1st, 2003

Can anyone recommend a bulletproof printer solution that can print on card
size stock, such as 4" x 4"? I have to print directly onto pre-cut card
sizes and doing it with my high end Xerox and HP Netowrk printers is a
menu-nightmare that usually ends in an error message. Almost all printers
claim to print on small stock, but it's always a pain in the neck. I want to
find the best machine that doesn't panic when you quickly set it up to print
on small cards. Anyone have an easy experience with a printer they can
recommend? Sometimes I have to print one card, sometimes many.

I had an old Lexmark printer that allowed me to set up the paper size in the
printing dialogue box/preferences menu. I think it was a Z35....I don't
have the printer any longer since it required expensive ink and had to be
aligned every other photo....maybe the new Lexmarks have this same printing
feature.

The canon I 850 would do that. It will print borderless 4x6 but the
beauty of it is, it will sense the edge less than 6 inches and it will
not lay down ink. So yes you can print your card face without
stretching it to 6 inches. that would work fine
