- Bought an HP3820. Works great for DOS printing!
- Posted by Angelo Campanella on September 20th, 2003
After reviving my ancient HPDJ500 too many times and frothing
over the ink jet cost, I sprung for an HP3820 since it even
mentioned DOS in its flimsy manual, and had a parallel printer
port..
On setup, my first installation from the accompanying CD failed.
Its trouble shooter said to uninstall and then reinstall. Part
way through that, it recommended reboot.
On reboot the CD took over, then installed several things on
LPT1, hands off, including addressing each of my DOS setups.
After that, DOS printing worked from LPT1 like it never knew
anything else! So I am pleased. And it does colors too! I have
yet to try PRNTSCRN.
