Got an apparent problem with a Canon 780 Multifunction and don't know
whether anyone can advise:
Basically, the machine can perform all of its functions OK, except:
The linked PC is switched off when it's not in use, but the fax
machine function on the 780 may still be needed, ie for use as a
standalone fax.
Whenever the power to the linked PC has been cycled ie on-to-off or
off-to-on and you go to send a fax (Select Fax, enter phone number hit
the B/W button) then the machine seems to stick in 'warming up' mode
indefinitely as it goes to wake up from its idle mode and so the fax
never gets sent. The only way to break out of this is to pull the
power cord out of the back and cause a reset. Once this is done and
the power reapplied, any number of faxes can be sent without problem
until the next time the PC power is cycled.
Any ideas please?
