Canon BJC-85: adaptor failure?
Posted by Bianca Blackstone on January 6th, 2004

The power adaptor on this printer will no longer come on. I've had
this printer for 3 years. I dropped it maybe once or twice by
accident. Is the adaptor dying a normal thing? Also, I've checked the
Canon website and I know I can buy one there. But are they also
available at any retail stores?

Thanks in advance.

I've had my BJC-80 (Same as BJC-85 except without USB) power adapter plugged
in 24/7 since about 1999, and ran a BJC-70 for several years prior to that,
the adapter dying is not "normal".

They're reliable enough, I wouldn't spend the money on a new one from Canon,
look for a used one on Ebay or local used computer shop. It may take some
looking but I've seen them from time to time in the $5 to $10 range.
