- Canon Pixma MP750 scanner fault
- Posted by Simon Finnigan on December 7th, 2006
Hi all,
i`ve got a Canon Pixma MP750 multi function device, that has a failed
scanner on it. The scanner moves correctly, the scanning bulb lights fine,
but when scanning all that is seen is a pure while picture, no colour (or
dark patches) are present.
Does anyone have a service manaual for this printer, or has anyone fixed a
similar fault in their own machine?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks. I`m loath to open it up and start tinkering without a clue what i`m
doing, so I`m hoping I get some help here or in those other groups :-)

I have a feeling it'll be a setting you haven't set or unset, if you
know what I mean, with it being a do-it-all piece of kit it may go
through the motions but because something hasn't been set a certain
way you're faces with a blank scan.

It has worked in the past, it`s just stopped working without any good
reason. Outside warantee (plus Cura, the company that Canon use in the UK,
are the most incompetent bunch of badly trained monkeys i`ve ever had the
misfortune to deal with), so I`m hoping it`s something I can repair myself.

well I tried searching the net for help on it but it seems almost a
dead end, including canon's own site.

I`m so annoyed. I had the canon repair man come out to look at it, and he
turned his back with the service manual CD in my machine. And everything
went in a clean-out, so I had the full service manauls for pretty much every
Canon printer, and lost them :-(

If it's any help at all I can send you the service manual and I also
have a dead MP750 that you're welcome to have for parts if you are
willing to pay the postage..
I'm pretty sure the scanner part of the unit is still in good condition
but can't say anything for the printer side of things as I suspect I
burned out the printhead and associated electronics when a printhead
went bad on me.
Just post up an email address on here that I can contact you on and I'll
sort it.
Cheers
