Hi,
Since replacing the Black cartridge, (with a genuine Canon cartridge)
my sister is having a problem with the printing of her Canon S400 printer,

When she prints a full page of text in "Normal" mode, the first half of the
page prints perfectly, then the rest of the page gets fainter & fainter.

When a "Test" page is printed via the printer's utility menu, it is in
"Draft" mode and is perfect. Likewise a "Nozzle Check" again gives a perfect
result.

I suspect that the problem may be a faulty ink cartridge, with an internal
restriction or blockage, but I am open to other suggestions.

Has anyone else experienced this problem.

You are probably correct, your print head has a blockage at the head or
internally.
