Consistency of Epson printers
Posted by Don Phillipson on December 8th, 2004

This Epson CX5400 printer is marvellously consistent.
Printing on Epson S0410544 ink jet cards,
printing a file from Broderbund Print Shop 15,
whether cards are inserted vertically or horizontally,
paper set to A6,
whether Landscape or Portrait,
I get only half my graphic and a lot of blank space.

What is the Epson secret?

The secret is a myriad of instructions and driver settings that should be
automatic but are not and require one to study the user's manual and online
help files.
It helps to make a trial print on ordinary paper before wasting expensive
stock.
If it is any conslation other manufacturer's printer drivers/instructions
can be even worse.
And there are some circumstances were exact fits for specific print sizes
cannot be obtained (but I doubt yours is one of them).

Remember, every failed print is more ink and paper sold for them.

If I told you I'd have to kill you ;-)

Can you explain exactly what you mean by "I get only half my graphic and
a lot of blank space."

Which half, is part being "printed" off the paper?

Does it eject the paper halfway completed?

Does it continue to print the other half on the next sheet?

More defined terms will help in a diagnosis.
