Costco IMS Refill ink kits ?
Posted by Martin on July 17th, 2003

Has anyone tried the IMS refill kits being sold by Costco? The package
contains 8-60ml squeeze bottles of inks, the usual tricolors, two photo
colors and 3 black, plus an assortment of refill tools and an instruction
booklet. Sells for $17.95. Anyone know anything about IMS?

look good and have not experienced a problem.

Have yet to refill the black cart. Can't say how that one works.

and have not had good results. Oh, the printer in question is an DJ 970.
Don't believe the IMS black ink is pigmented and that may play into the
poor results I've seen. Ink viscosity seems thiner than pigmented factory
ink. If your printing multi page doc, printout starts looking like low on
ink. The last cart I tried has a hard time with more than one pg at a
time. Let it set between pages and it prints again.

I believe for decent results you need to use inks that are specifically
formulated for the printer your using.
