We have an Epson Photo 1280 on a network using an HP jetdirect 170x.
From our workstations we would like to be able to see the ink levels
but it will not let us. Under Printing Preference the Ink Level
indicators are grayed out. Is this something that needs to be
configured or is this something you give up when you network?

Anytime the printer indicates we are running out of ink (red flashing
light) it's a guessing gave what cartridge it is or we wait till is
becomes obvious through the print quality.

I've got the same problem with an Epson C82.
I don't know what to do! :-(
I hope someone will help us.
If i've hear of solutions i'll post here.
