Anyone in the group have any experience with the Epson 2200, and would care
to comment about the quality and speed of the print, would appreciate any
comments as I would like to buy one for my wife at Xmas.

I've had one now for about a year and have outputted several thousand
images; in short, we love it. Do a google search (groups) and a web search
(add "reviews", without the quote marks), and you'll find out everything,
both good and bad, that you ever might want to know.

You won't find a better photo printer, particularly for the price. I've had
the Epson 1200, 1280 and 2000P, and the 2200 is by far the best. In
addition to the incredible image quality, the prints are archival, up to 60
years.
Regarding speed, I would not call it fast, but it's faster than it's
predecessor, the 2000P. By the way, in my opinion, there is no reason to
print at 2880 -- 1440 is faster and it's virtually impossible to see the
difference.

I've had one for over a year, the quality is amazing, especially on premium
glossy paper, but it is pretty slow. For my purposes, I don't care, but keep
it in mind.
