- Epson 2200
- Posted by Hobo on January 25th, 2004
I am thinking of buying an Epson 2200.
Can anyone tell me when this printer was first available for sale? Is
there rumor about a replacement on the horizon?
Any other comments on the 2200 would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Ken

Someone posted recently that their Epson dealer couldn't
get any more 2100's (apparently the Euro version of the 2200).
In terms of reviews, they're great.

We have one and it is the best. But it is an ink drinker. We use it at home for
our better work and it is fine for this use. Try to use it with USB or
Firewire. We buy ink from "inkjetart.com". Try to order enough to get the free
shipping option. When we unpacked the printer we saved all the shipping
materials and used the sheet of plastic for a cover where we have the printer.
I repair for a college and they have two of these printers. They do some
beautiful work. The printer is capable of some great things but like most
printers and the like it is only as good as you. Do take some time to learn to
use the printer and it will serve you well.

Go with the Epson 4000. It is great.

If your not looking for larger format, check out Epson's newest entry,
which is already on back order - The Stylus R800 - It has 8 separate
color cartridges. Here's a link to a review: www.photo-i.co.uk
