epson 850 stylus color is dead
Posted by daniel on September 11th, 2003

After my epson crashed with several sheets of paper, he doesn't do a
thing. I downloaded the epson Status Monitor 2 v P2DE for Windows
2000 but the tool doesnt' find the printer (keeps "serching...").
Printing with Word is great: Nothing happens except the
printer-message: "printing"; later: "printing...deleting". And the
printing job is gone!

The color ink tank is empty but it worked fine before the crash.

Does anyone have ideas other than buying a new printer?

Thank you.
Daniel

Sorry to inform you that your first mistake was purchasing an Epson.
If you do a google search in groups with printer clog, you'll find
that epsons dominate in this area. Really, the best thing to do is
throw it out. You'll save yourself a lot of time and pain in the long
run. Go with another brand name. I speak from experience too. 4 epsons
so far. No more!
