Epson 880 problem
Posted by steve on October 11th, 2003

Oh here's the problem
Had this printer nearly 2 years but thru wear and tear i am finding it
near impossible to feed the paper thru the printer
Basically i think the paper feeder has worn out!
So my question can this be fixed or do any of the new epson models use
the same paper feeder? and thus could i put the new paper feeder in
the epson 880??
Thanks!

You can clean two rubber feed rollers using a cloth and alcohol.
Carefully touch the roller with cloth wrapped around your finger and
press the load button. Take care not to feed the cloth . Repeat
several times.
Alternatively you can clean the rollers using a sheet of carton: drop
some alcohol close to the sheet edge (where the rollers will contact
the sheet), put it into the feeder and press the load button keeping
strongly the sheet - it must not be fed. Repeat several times cutting
the used, dirty area.

New feeders are different (afaik 760/860/880 share the same feeder),
but feed rollers should be available as spares.
