Calll Epson Tech suppt and ask them. Tell them you want to install a CIS system and you want to use relabeled ink. See if they will help you. rcko...@gmail.com wrote:

Is anyone using a CIS on the new Photo 1400? With most Epson printers, the cover/lid of the cartridge holder is usually removed to provide clearance for the CIS tubing. I have this printer but don't see how a CIS can be installed on it without voiding the warranty. Any information about your installation will be very much appreciated.

So far, I found that the left hinge unsnaps easily - as it does on many other Epson models. The right one however, doesn't snap apart. If you were to try to forcefully dis-assemble the right hinge you're likely to break it. Another way to get the needed clearance of course, would be to cut out some plastic. In either case, the warranty will be voided.

How is this need for tubing clearance been handled on your 1400 CIS installation?

That is the junkie generic ink that vendors buy, relabel, and resell without telling the customer what they are selling. Glad you asked.

If you are new to this group, you likely aren't yet familiar with our
local troll. Measekite is a trouble maker who most of us have
kill-filed so we don't have to put up with his foolishness.

His comments (quoted below) are typical. He owns one or two Canon
printers, and claims he only used OEM inks, and may well do so. He has
been on a crusade against 3rd party inks for a year or two, making
regular fallacious claims against them. No matter how many people have
legitimately stated they use 3rd party inks successfully, he claims they
are either liars, people working on behalf of ink resellers, or ink
resellers themselves, and therefore with vested and dishonest intent.

I know many of the people he makes these claims about, and the vast
majority are not ink resellers.

Anyway, his comments and suggestions to you should be taken as comic
relief and not as serious suggestions. He is being "cute" . I don't
think Epson will try to help you in this matter.
