- Epson R210 - CD tray not connecting
- Posted by Rock on October 1st, 2005
Hi,
I have a Epson R210 which is the same as the R310.
It is a great printer but when I print CD's I get this problem.
With the Cd in the tray, it does not go automatically, until I push it
slightly.
I have checked the small clear plastic at the end of the tray and they
are all straight and there is no blockage in the rollers.
Is there a way I can tweak the insert mechanism to have it move in
automatically ?
Also when it is finished, it does not eject all the way out either. It
ejects enough to be free but then stops and the red light flashes. So
every time I finish a CD print I have to go thru this red light stuff.
Any elp here?
Thanks
Rock

You can invest in a full 12oz can of soda and place it just fore of the
cd tray and wedge the tray into place before printing. When I was
using the Epson r200 until such time as I took a Dremmel to the tray
and made it into a Canon tray.
Aside from this there is no help for you. You could ask Epson for
another CD-tray which they provide freely but for the most part this is
a design flaw.

That's true
You can extend that clear plastic strip with some stiff tape wrapped
around it. Someone did have a URL pointer to the mod. I placed a 1" wide
tape starting along the underside level with the clear plastic then
folding it, in half, up and sticking it to the top of the tray - so its
wrapped around. This works and allows the rollers to take up sooner and
still push the tray out later.
??
The mod fixes that.
Now should I put the spiel in about OEM Inks ?????????????
