- How to turn off a HP Photosmart 3210 automatically
- Posted by Ben Boerstoel on March 19th, 2007
Hi,
I'd like to know how to turn off my HP Photosmart 3210 automatically, i.e.
when I shutdown Windows XP Home SP2. Now I always have to turn it off
manually.
Another thing I'd appreciate is an automatic shutdown of the printer after a
configurable number of minutes.
I examined the settings of the HP Photosmart driver, but to no avail. So
does anyone know how to turn this printer off automatically?
Thanks a lot.

Just curious, but what exactly is the problem with switching it off
manually..?

Fair enough, I'm so used to leaving my stuff on 24/7 I don't think about
it. My HP CLJ2605dn goes into sleep mode after a while anyway.
Can't help with your question I'm afraid.

consumption is typically very low but in this case the idle power is 11
1/2 watts which is a lot to leave on all the time.
According to the energy star requirements some MFDs can draw up to 105
watts in the idle mode. Yikes!
