I must admit to getting a bit annoyed myself at some of the posts showing up
through that portal though. The one good thing about usenet is that
*generally* most complete n00bs don't know about it. This makes the quality
of the advice given in a loy of the comp groups quite good. Since that
portal has been running I've seen some plainly stupid advice from obvious
know-nothing kiddies in some of my favourite NGs.

It's akin to spam IMO.

That sucks! This "Howtofixcomputers" seems to be getting quite popular, at
least I'm seeing quite a few posts from there. I haven't checked the site
but this guy could be getting advertising revenue from basically leeching
froman established resource. I mean, if it didn't impose on the quality of
my newsgroup experience I'd probably applaud the guy. As it is it is
adversely affecting *my* newsgroups.

I think that I was the only person on the planet that still to not like AMD
systems.
I´m happy to not be the only one.

Btw, since everyone was talking about the site, but apparently didn't go
look at it, I went there.

It says right up front "Forum messages are synchronized with Usenet" and
each 'forum' lists which usenet newsgroup it's associated with. While I
can't say as I like the idea of web surfers posting into usenet, for the
reasons already stated, I also can't say they're being 'deceptive' about it.

Btw, you're listed as the last poster in their 'hardware' forum, that's
synced with alt.comp.hardware, and in 'webcams' (alt.comp.periphs.webcam) hehe

I cannot grasp this response, as google has had a web based newsgroups
access for quite a while, and I believe there are a few others. This is old
news, so why would it seem to be significant in recent developments? What am
i missing?
TIA.

Google's NG experience isn't as user-friendly as this one and isn't quite so
easy to find. Google groups tend to be used by people already familiar with
NGs whereas this set-up has more of a board/chat look to it, more appealing
for n00bs.

I had a barber once who just couldn't get my hair at all close to the way I
told him to cut it. I chalked that up to "shear stupidity".

Both you & JAD.
What's wrong with you AMD Hating people, did you know that AMD came out with
64 Bit tech before intel?
Did you know AMD chips have some features that Intel could only dream about?
Intel's 775 Pin LGA may have 64 Bit Tech, but your not going to find a copy
of WinXp that will use it.
By "X-Mas" I think Microsoft will release a copy of WinXp 64 for Intel.
This means that you can run an AMD 64 With WinXp 64 + Did you know that the
true (FSB)
To some of the 64 Bit chips is 400 MHz Hm? So, that's another 200 MHz
over Intel.
Should I keep explaining?

Also, I typed this on a P4, but I also have a 2200+
Both these two systems have things I'm finding can do better on the other
one.
Truth is I cant say anything bad about either system.
Denny. ;-) :-)
