Has anyone any experience (good or bad) using a chip resetter for the
HP10/HP11 cartridges?

I do not believe they can be reset. They can, however, be equipped
with auto-reset chips. You need to find the ones that come with a
'cap' for the bottom of the cartridge, as you cannot put an auto-reset
chip (it's too thick) onto a normal 10/11 cart without cutting the
plastic up and hoping you have it aligned in the right spot.

You may be correct but 'resetters' are marketed for this cartridge.
Whether or not they are effective is another matter, hence my query.

Resetters for this type of cartridge are for aftermarket resettable
chips. Refill vendors use these to keep people coming back - the chips
won't auto reset, you have to do it manually when you refill the
cartridges. It can also be more convenient for a home refiller,
because the auto-reset chips reset every time the power is shut off,
thus making it more difficult to tell when to refill.
