ibm 6400 on twinax and win2k network

Hello folks.

I would appreciate any advice, tips, suggestions, solutions on the
following problem:

I need to make a IBM 6400 printer connected via twinax to an AS/400
available on a windows 2000 network. The printer should be accessible
to the AS/400 via twinax as it currently is, as well as on the windows
network via parallel or serial.

Initially I was thinking of connecting the printer on 2 interfaces
simultaneously (twinax and parallel) but I was told that might not
work. Is that correct?

It seems that there are some 'box' products on the market which let
you plug in your twinax on one side and parallel on the other, etc.
but they are too pricy (around $1400 for one that i checked from
blackbox.com). If there are other cheaper solutions in the $200-400
range, I would be willing to invest in them.

Thanks in advance.

Hammad Sophie.
